Minot Alternate Captain Spencer makes NCAA Commitment

The Minot Minotauros of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Ian Spencer has committed to play NCAA hockey for Trinity College in the NESCAC.
Second-year veteran from New Lenox, Illinois, Spencer will skate with the Bantams in Hartford, Connecticut, in the fall. Spencer hit the ice in 62 games this past season for the Tauros. He featured 25 goals and a team-leading 49 assists. He additionally ranks first on his roster with his 74 points on the season. 10 of his goals were scored on the man advantage, and three goals were named the decider in contests. The ‘04 skater was named as a Top Prospect for the Central Division roster at the 2025 Top Prospects Tournament. Spencer found the back of the net and produced an assist during the two-day tournament.
In Spencer’s first full season in the NAHL, the 5’9 lefty laced up in 56 contests for the North Dakota roster. He scored seven goals and made 20 assists. One of his goals was named as the decider in a game. Prior to the 2023-24 season, Spencer got a taste of the NAHL with the Minotauros in the 2022-23 season. He experienced a two-game call-up with Minot.
Spencer played a total of 118 career games with the Tauros, scoring 103 career points.

Spencer is one of 14 members of the Minot Minotauros to make a college hockey commitment.
