Kenai River Forward Greene makes NCAA DI Commitment

November 4, 2025

The Kenai River Brown Bears of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward David Greene has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for the Air Force Academy in the Atlantic.

The 6’0 lefty from the Sunshine State has committed to skate with the Falcons in Colorado. Greene is a first-year skater in the NAHL. The 18-year-old is tied first on his roster with seven goals on the year, one of them being the decider in a contest. The forward has also tallied three assists so far this season. The Florida native was tendered by the Brown Bears last year in mid-November. Additionally, for Greene, securing a commitment to the Air Force Academy feels like a dream come true. He always dreamt of flying and serving his country. Greene explained that playing at the NAHL Showcase helped him get back on the Air Force Academy’s radar and ultimately helped him secure a commitment.

The 6’0 lefty shares his excitement on social media to secure a commitment to the Air Force Academy.

“I am honored to announce my commitment to play Division I hockey at the Air Force Academy. Thank you to my family, all of the coaches, teammates, and friends who have helped me along the way. I am excited to be a Falcon!”

Head coach of the Kenai River Brown Bears, Darren Banks, explains more about Greene’s dedication to getting better on the ice.

“We are happy for Greene to have his hard work rewarded by this commitment to his desired school. He shows dedication and work ethic every day in the way that he prepares, both on and off the ice. Greene garners respect from the community and his teammates as they can trust he will bring a consistent effort to the rink. We look forward to his continued success this season and throughout his junior career as he prepares for his collegiate journey.”

Greene is the first member of the Kenai River Brown Bears to make a Division I hockey college commitment.
