Thursday Thriller: Minnesota secures victory on home ice

Chippewa 2 @ Minnesota W 4 - The Minnesota Wilderness defeated the Chippewa Steel 4-2 Friday night at Northwoods Credit Union Arena. Minnesota opened the scoring in the first period with a goal from Talan Blanck. The home team added a shorthanded goal later in the period as Robinson Dijan scored with an assist from Noah Dziver, giving Minnesota a 2-0 lead after one. Minnesota scored first in the second period when Noah Dziver scored, assisted by Zachary Homer and Andrei Gudin, extending the lead to three. Chippewa responded on the power play as Mario Solarte scored his first of the season with assists from John Carney and Trevor Bodie to cut the deficit to two. In the third period, Minnesota regained a three-goal advantage when Blanck scored on an empty net for his second of the night, assisted by Dijan and Avery Anderson. Chippewa answered with a goal from Blake Graff, assisted by Anthony Azzarello, but was unable to rally.
