Austin Forward Siamion Marshchanok makes NCAA DI Commitment

January 3, 2026

The Austin Bruins of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Siamion Marshchanok has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Augustana University in the CCHA.

Lighting up the scoresheet for the Bruins, Marshchanok will head to skate with the Vikings in South Dakota next fall with his twin brother, Matsvei. The 5-foot-9 lefty has made his mark in his first year in the League of Opportunity. He ranks second overall amongst skaters with his 57 points on the season. A little over half of his offensive production has been notched on the man advantage, nine goals and 21 assists. In his 30 games played, the 20-year-old tallied 19 goals and 38 assists for the Bruins. He features a +28 rating on the year and leads his roster in almost every category. He spotlights an impressive 1.9 points per game for the season and notched 18 multi-point contests with Austin.

Marshchanok has secured September Forward of the Month honors, while earning two Central Division Star of the Week awards.

The Belarus native shares his excitment to join the program and his gratitude for the Austin organization.

“It has always been my dream to play Division I hockey. The experience I have received with the Bruins has helped me so much. I am so grateful that I ended up with such a great team."

The twins will join a fellow Belarus skater and Aberdeen Wings alumnus, Leonid Bulgakov. Bulgakov has seen a ton of success with Augustana this season, leading the team with 10 goals and sits in second with 16 points in his first season.

Head coach of the Bruins, Steve Howard, shares his excitement for both twins.

“We could not be happier for Siamion and Matsvei. We were very excited to bring the twins in this season, and they have continued to grow and develop throughout the first half of the season. We are excited for them to get this opportunity to continue to play at Augustana.”

Marshchanok is one of five members of the Austin Bruins to make a Division I hockey college commitment.
