NAHL Announces Bauer Hockey Stars of the Week

The North American Hockey League (NAHL) announced today the Bauer Hockey Divisional Stars of the Week for the week ending February 8, 2026. Only players that are nominated by their respective teams are considered for the Divisional Player of the Week awards.

Central Division Star of the Week: Teddy Richardson, Forward, Bismarck Bobcats

The Show-Me State skater, Teddy Richardson, put on a show this past weekend for the Bobcats. In a battle for the Dakota Buffalo Cup, the Bobcats hosted the Watertown Shamrocks for a weekend series. Starting on Friday night, Richardson produced his first two points playing for the Central Division team. He notched two primary assists on Nick Snyder’s tallies in the contest, helping to lift the Bobcats to a 3-2 victory. Moving into Saturday night, the University of Alaska-Fairbanks commit showed off his offensive capabilities in a big way. Richardson would find twine for his first goal as a Bobcat with under a minute on the clock in the opening frame. 50 seconds later, the ‘06 forward would show off his speed by taking the puck across the neutral zone and scoring an unassisted goal to give Bismarck their first lead of the night. The contest would feature a battle for the next 40 minutes of regulation, forcing the game into overtime. With a turnover forced by Bismarck’s Charlie Kresl, a 2-on-1 broke out, and Richardson would light the lamp in overtime game-winning fashion. The third-year NAHL veteran notched his fourth career hat trick, helping to secure his team a 5-4 overtime win.

For the weekend, the 6-foot-2 skater spotlighted a five-point performance, tallying three goals and two assists. Richardson is a T1ER alumnus, skating with the CarShield program. This honor marks the second time this season the 19-year-old has been recognized with a weekly award. The last time he was named was on December 1, 2025, following a four-goal night with the Wisconsin Windigo. Richardson has played over 100 games in the NAHL, securing 85 career points.

Head coach of the Bobcats, Garrett Roth, explains what he has seen from Richardson during his short time with the Bismarck organization.

“Teddy has been a big addition to our group and has the ability to make an immediate impact in our lineup. Offensively, he made a huge imprint on our success, but his work ethic and commitment to how we want to play stood out this past weekend. We've had a lot of changes within our group lately, and he has done a great job understanding what the focus is for his development and our team's success.”

East Division Star of the Week: Matthew Maglio, Forward, Elmira Aviators

The alternate captain, Matt Maglio, took flight this past weekend and produced a NAHL career first in back-to-back nights for the Aviators. The 6-foot-3 righty started his weekend with a critical-time goal on Friday night. With the game tied 2-2, the contest was forced into overtime and eventually went into a shootout. With a back-and-forth battle brewing, Maglio would find twine and be the hero in the sixth round of the shootout. This shootout goal marked his first in his NAHL career. Moving into Saturday night, the matchup featured an offensive frenzy between both teams. The Ringwood, New Jersey native would get his night started with a one-timer in the final minutes of the opening period. Maglio would then show up on the scoresheet again early in the second period in the same one-timer fashion. His offensive production does not end there; the 19-year-old would notch a career-first, a hat trick. With 14:44 on the clock, Maglio lights the lamp on the power play in, of course, one-timer fashion. The Aviators would fall; however, the alternate captain’s offensive dominance kept his team in the contest.

For the weekend, Maglio tallied three goals and a shootout goal. The ‘06 skater was one of the few selected for the 2026 Top Prospects Tournament and will be skating for the Selects Red roster at the USA Hockey Arena. On his roster, the New Jersey native ranks first on his roster in goals (16) and total points (37). He features a team-leading nine power-play goals on the year.

Midwest Division Star of the Week: Kyle Rohrer, Forward, Fairbanks Ice Dogs

Roaring into a big offensive weekend was third-year veteran Kyle Rohrer. The ‘05 skater played a key offensive piece in the Ice Dogs’ sweep against their in-state rivals, the Anchorage Wolverines. The 6-foot forward got his weekend started with a three-point performance on Friday night. The Lindenwood commit found twine quickly into the opening frame with a power-play goal at the 14:15 minute mark. Rohrer would continue his offensive production in the first period with assists on Dean Andrews' goal midway through the frame and then Oliver Barna’s power-play tally with 3:20 to spare on the clock. Rohrer ended his night with a three-point game, helping his team secure a 7-1 victory. Heading into Saturday night, Fairbanks was looking to continue their winning ways against the Anchorage Wolverines at the Big Dipper Ice Arena. Just like the night before, the Wisconsin native would light the lamp in the opening period on the man advantage. The third-year veteran would round out his night with an assist on Oliver Barna’s power-play goal in the final minute of the second period. The Ice Dogs secured the sweep thanks to Rohrer’s work.

For the weekend, the Lindenwood commit featured a five-point performance, tallying two goals and three assists. Rohrer has been a key offensive piece for the Ice Dogs this season, leading the team with 1.37 points per game in his age-out year. He leads the Ice Dogs with 33 assists, while sitting in second with 48 total points on the season. The Oregon, Wisconsin native has played a total of 132 career games for the Ice Dogs, picking up 139 career points in the span.

Head coach of the Ice Dogs, Dakota Bell, explains why Rohrer’s work in practice is paying dividends in his success in games.

“Kyle is fully deserving of the recognition as NAHL Midwest Division Star of the Week. For us, everything starts in practice with a strong work ethic & attention to detail, and Kyle demonstrated that throughout the week. This helped lead into our two wins, where both Kyle and our team had success.”

Bell went into more detail on what is making Rohrer successful on the ice.

“When Kyle is playing as he did away from the puck, it helps him get the puck on his stick more, and that’s always a good thing for us. What great timing for his performance, with him being named an assistant captain for us this past week! In addition, Kyle moved into the top five all-time for points as an Ice Dog. In his three seasons with us in Fairbanks, Kyle has taken tremendous strides both on and off the ice, and we are so proud of him. We are excited to see how he finishes the year with us and look forward to watching him next year at Lindenwood.”

South Division Star of the Week: Jackson Silverberg, Goaltender, New Mexico Ice Wolves

Hailing from the City of Angels, Jackson Silverberg stood tall in the blue paint over the weekend for the Ice Wolves. The 5-foot-9 netminder picked up crucial points for New Mexico’s hunt for the postseason. Starting things off on Friday night, the 5-foot-9 netminder was lights out after allowing an early first-period goal by the IceRays. He stopped 28 out of 29 shots, picking up a win in the blue paint. Moving into Saturday night, the ‘06 first-year goaltender picked up a shootout victory in the crease. The contest featured a back-and-forth battle between the teams, forcing the game into overtime and an eventual shootout. Silverberg saved both shootout attempts, lifting his team to a 3-2 victory on the road. Between the pipes, Silverberg made a 40-save performance, ranking as his second highest performance of the season. 

For the weekend, the first-year netminder stopped 68 out of 71 shots on net, spotlighting a 1.50 goals-against average and .971 save percentage between both games. For the season, the California native has picked up 18 wins in his 28 games played, securing a .911 save percentage in his rookie season.

Head coach of the Ice Wolves, Kyle McKenzie, went into detail on how Silverberg has served a key role on the team.

“Jackson has been solid for us all season long. He had a great opportunity last weekend and ran with it. He has a tremendous work ethic and it is no surprise Jackson is having success.”
