The Amarillo Wranglers of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Jake Boulanger has committed to play NCAA hockey for Tufts University  in the NESCAC.

The 20-year-old from Vermont, Jake Boulanger, will head to Medford, Massachusetts, next fall to skate with the Jumbos. Boulanger is a second-year NAHL veteran. This season, he has laced up for 43 games for the Wranglers. The 6-foot-1 righty has tallied eight goals while making 11 assists. Three of his goals were named the decider in contests, while two goals were scored on the man advantage. The Vermont native ranks fourth on his roster with 19 total points this season.

Last year, Boulanger started his NAHL career with the Northeast Generals. He was drafted in the 4th round, 113th overall by the Generals in the 2024 NAHL Entry Draft. He played 16 games with the East Division team, registering a goal and two assists. He was then acquired by the Amarillo Wranglers, where he would hit the ice in 34 games with the South Division team. He scored four goals while making three assists in that span.

Head coach of the Wranglers, Michael Hill, shares his excitement for Boulanger’s next step.

“Jake Boulanger is the kind of player every coach wants in their program. He’s a hard worker, a natural leader, and he shows up every day with a great attitude and a clear sense of purpose. Jake is extremely self-aware and thoughtful about his future, and his decision to commit to Tufts University speaks to that maturity. He chose a school that matches both his hockey goals and his academic ambitions, and that says a lot about the person he is. Tufts is getting a great player, but an even better young man.”

Boulanger is one of two members of the Amarillo Wranglers to make a college ice hockey commitment.
