Maryland Defenseman Pellitteri makes NCAA DI Commitment

The Maryland Black Bears of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Anthony Pellitteri has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for University of Alaska-Anchorage.

The 6-foot blueliner from Holbrook, Massachusetts, Pellitteri has secured a commitment to the Seawolves program. The ‘07 skater is in his first season in the League of Opportunity, playing in 33 games for the Black Bears. The 18-year-old has found the back of the net five times, while producing 13 assists for Maryland. 

The first-year skater went into detail on what it means to secure a Division I commitment.

“I am very proud and honored to announce my commitment to play Division I hockey at the University of Alaska-Anchorage. I’d like to thank my family, friends, coaches, teammates, advisor, and everyone else who has helped me along the way.”

Head coach of the Black Bears, Clint Mylymok, shares what he has seen from Pellitteri this season and what it means for him to secure a commitment. 

“Anthony has come to Maryland and really solidified himself as a Division I athlete, on and off the ice. He is truly committed to the process of being a student-athlete, and we have been excited that we have been a part of his development path. University of Alaska-Anchorage is getting a very determined, competitive, and talented defenseman, and we are excited for Anthony and his family.”

Pellitteri is one of 10 members of the Maryland Black Bears to make a Division I hockey college commitment.
