The win brings the Hat Tricks to a three-way, fourth-place tie with the Titans and the Northeast Generals in the East Division with 52 points. Danbury’s recent 7-2-1 run in its last 10 games has helped them to catch New Jersey and Northeast in the standings. The Hat Tricks got the lone goal of the first period. Peter Freel tallied his ninth of the season just 5:33 into the game to give Danbury an early 1-0 lead. Freel’s goal was the lone score of the game all the way through to the third period. Danbury held a 17-13 shots on goal advantage through 40 minutes. The fireworks began just over seven minutes into the final frame. New Jersey’s Hudson Slenker notched his sixth goal of the year to finally bring the Titans back even at 1-1. Danbury had a response just 1:29 later. Boring nabbed his seventh goal of the campaign to quickly restore the Hat Tricks’ lead. The goal was assisted by Elkie, his first assist of the game and 32nd of the season. Tanner Terranova (11th) doubled the Hat Tricks’ lead with just under eight minutes to go. Elkie picked up his second assist of the game and 33rd of the year. New Jersey did not go down quietly. Joe Pocrnic got the Titans within a goal with 2:33 to play. The goal was his fourth of the season. That was as close as the Titans could get. Boring (eighth) provided the dagger via an empty-net for his second marker of the game to seal Danbury’s 4-2 win.
