St. Cloud 3 @ Minnesota M 2 (SO) - The St.Cloud Norsemen defeat the Minnesota Mallards 3-2 in a shootout. In a relatively even first period, both teams had chances, but neither were able to convert on any of their opportunities, and the game went into the first intermission scoreless. In the second period, the Norsemen turned up the pressure, dominating the shot count 17-3. However, both teams found the back of the net in the middle frame with Wes Berg opening up the scoring for the Mallards, and Billy Biedermann tying it four minutes later. In the final frame, Minnesota pulled ahead with a goal from Joseph Delaurentis, but St. Cloud was quick to respond to tie the game 2-2. The game headed to overtime where each team registered three shots on net, but neither were able to finish in the extra frame. In the shootout, Andrew Karkoc ended it in the fourth round to earn the win for St. Cloud.
