Sunday Wrap-up: Kenai River Featured Come-From-Behind Thriller in the Third Frame

Kenai River 5 @ Anchorage 4 - The Kenai River Brown Bears ended the weekend with a win. A third-period comeback had the Brown Bears finishing this Sunday's match on top after losing to their Midwest Division rival the day prior. It was a close game that saw the Anchorage Wolverines outshoot the Brown Bears 32-28. The Wolverines also granted the Brown Bears seven power-play opportunities, and Kenai River converted three of these into goals during the final period. Kristians Utnans scored first for the Brown Bears, assisted by Drew Travers. The Wolverines answered back with a goal from Bowen Burke. Jack McKenna capped off the first for Anchorage, adding another tally in the final seconds of the period to make the score 2-1. Wolverines' Landon Greenough netted the lone goal of the second period, which was also Greenough's second goal of the season. In the final frame, Alexander Matveyey scored to kick off the final 20 minutes, giving the Wolverines a 4-1. Later in the third, momentum swung back in the Brown Bears' favor. Ryan McPartland and Benjamin Tauscher scored back-to-back power-play goals for the Brown Bears. Zach Fleming then earned his first goal of the season, assisted by Utnans, to tie the match. The game remained tied until the final seconds of regulation when Brown Bears' Carter McCormick scored a power-play goal with just 17 seconds left on the clock, securing a win for the Brown Bears.
