New Jersey Captain Hanscom makes NCAA Commitment

The New Jersey Titans of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Matt Hanscom has committed to play NCAA hockey for Colby College in the NESCAC. 

The 6-foot-1 lefty from Mendon, Massachusetts, will head to Waterville, Maine, to skate with the Mules next fall. Hanscom is a third-year veteran of the NAHL. He started his NAHL career with the New Hampshire Mountain Kings in the 2023-24 season. The 21-year-old laced up for 18 games for New Hampshire, tallying his first junior goal while making two assists. 

Heading into his second season, Hanscom started his year with the Mountain Kings, lacing up in 16 games for the program. Following his time in New Hampshire he was acquired by the Titans, playing in six games. He scored a goal and made an assist during that stint before his season was over in late November. 

That following year in his last season of junior hockey, Hanscom returned to New Jersey, skating with the Titans in 54 regular season games. He scored a goal while making 12 assists from the blue line. His work on the ice earned him the recognition as a Top Prospect at the 2026 Top Prospects Tournament for the East Division roster.

The veteran will join two fellow NAHL skaters at Colby College next season. Emerson Marshall from the Johnstown Tomahawks and his current New Jersey Titans teammate, Skogen Schrott will lace up for the Colby College ice hockey program.

Hanscom is one of nine members of the New Jersey Titans to make a college ice hockey commitment.
