Rochester Forward Doran makes NCAA Commitment

April 21, 2026

The Rochester Jr. Americans of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Cameron Doran has committed to play NCAA hockey for St. John Fisher University in the UCHC.

Playing for his hometown team this season, Doran will stay in New York to skate for the Cardinals in the fall. The 6-foot forward is a first-year skater in the League of Opportunity. The 21-year-old laced up in 55 regular-season games for the Red, White, and Blue. Doran scored eight goals while making nine assists for his hometown team. One of his tallies this season was named a game-winner, while one goal was scored on the man advantage. The ‘05 skater has gotten his first taste of postseason hockey this past weekend, playing in both Division Semifinal games for the Jr. Americans. In Saturday night’s contest, Doran produced two assists in the 3-0 shutout victory over the Northeast Generals.

The 6-foot forward joins one of the newest Division III hockey programs. The Cardinals' inaugural season was last year, looking to grow into their second year.

Doran is one of 12 members of the Rochester Jr. Americans to make a college ice hockey commitment.
