Rochester Captain Kichline makes NCAA Commitment

The Rochester Jr. Americans of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Dexter Kichline has committed to play NCAA hockey for Amherst College in the NESCAC.

The third-year Rochester veteran, Kichline will join the Mammoths at Amherst College in the fall. Kichline has played 166 games as a Jr. American. The 20-year-old this past season has laced up in 31 regular season games for the Red, White, and Blue. The ‘05 lefty has scored one goal while making 12 assists from the blue line. Three of those assists were notched on the man advantage with the New York-based team. 

Last season, the Henderson, Nevada native played in every single game for Rochester, including their run in the postseason. With 59 regular season games and 12 postseason games, Kichline was a key member in the Jr. Americans’ success. The 6-foot blueliner scored five goals while making 20 assists during the 2024-25 season. He featured two game-winning goals and one goal scored on the power play. His work on the ice earned him the recognition as a Top Prospect for the 2025 Top Prospects Tournament. Kichline was named to the East Division roster. 

His rookie season in the NAHL featured the blueliner playing 62 games with the new organization. He scored four goals and made seven assists in his debut junior season. That year he scored one goal on the man advantage for the Jr. Americans.

In total, the captain spotlights 49 career points in his 166 games played as a Jr. American so far. He scored 10 goals while producing 39 assists.

Kichline is one of 12 members of the Rochester Jr. Americans to make a college ice hockey commitment.
