Corpus Christi Defenseman Hihn makes NCAA Commitment

The Corpus Christi IceRays of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Lucas Hihn has committed to play NCAA hockey for Endicott College in the Conference of New England (CNE).

Hihn shared his excitement to join the Gulls program.

“I’m honored to commit to Endicott College. I want to thank my coaches, teammates, and family for their support in helping me reach this opportunity. I’m excited for what’s ahead both academically and athletically.”

The 6-foot-1 blueliner from Burlington, Ontario, will head to Beverly, Massachusetts, in the fall. Hihn was drafted in the 2025 NAHL Entry Draft by the Corpus Christi IceRays in the seventh round, 226th overall. This season, the ‘06 skater laced up for the IceRays in 54 regular season games. Hihn scored two goals while notching 21 assists for the South Division team. The 6-foot-1 lefty featured four multi-point contests in the regular season. In addition, the blueliner produced an assist during the postseason for Corpus Christi.

Ryan Gil from the IceRays went into more detail on Hihn's work from the blue line.

“Lucas has been a reliable and consistent defenseman for us all season. His work ethic and attention to detail have really stood out, and we’re excited to see him take the next step at Endicott College.”

The Endicott College Gulls started a hockey program in 2015. Since 2017, the Gulls have punched their ticket to the postseason five times. Their most recent appearance was this past season.

Hihn is one of four members of the Corpus Christi IceRays to make a college ice hockey commitment.
