Tuesday Thriller: Maryland Black Bears Are Your New Robertson Cup Champions

Minnesota 2 @ Maryland 3 OT (Maryland wins Robertson Cup) - In a battle for the championship, the Maryland Black Bears will skate away with the Robertson Cup thanks to an overtime comeback for the fourth time in a row. The first period was scoreless, as Minnesota outshot Maryland 8-6. Moving into the second period, Tanner Duncan of the Black Bears will light the lamp just over two minutes in. The Wilderness would respond with two quick back-to-back goals less than a minute later. First, Robinson Djian strikes for his first of the postseason, and then the captain, Avery Anderson, finds twine off a feed by River Freeman. In the final 20 minutes of regulation, Harrison Smith would even the score off of a feed by Tanner Duncan midway through the frame. With the score tied, the contest would be forced into overtime, where Brand Anes lit the lamp to secure his team the championship. In net for the Black Bears, Ryan Denes turned aside 38 out of 40 shots, securing his fourth overtime win in net.
