New Mexico Alternate Captain Hubbard makes NCAA DI Commitment

The New Mexico Ice Wolves of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Stanley Hubbard has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Robert Morris University in the Atlantic. 

The 6-foot-6 forward from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Hubbard will join the Colonials in the fall. Hubbard is a second-year veteran of the Ice Wolves. This season, he laced up in 60 games for his hometown team, tallying 11 goals and 13 assists. He featured two game-winning goals with four tallies scored on the power play. In addition, the ‘05 lefty notched a short-handed goal for his team. His work on the ice earned him a spot at the 2026 Top Prospects Tournament on the South Division roster. Last season, the New Mexico skater played in 55 games for the Ice Wolves, registering 14 points. He scored six goals while producing eight assists in the span.

Hubbard explains what it means to announce his commitment on social media.

“I am very proud and honored to announce my commitment to play NCAA Division I hockey at Robert Morris University! I would like to thank my family, friends, teammates, and coaches who have all helped me along the way.”

Before playing in the League of Opportunity, Hubbard spent two seasons in the NA3HL. In the 2023-24 season, he played in 43 games. The 6-foot-6 forward notched 23 points in the season. He found twine 12 times and notched 11 assists. In his debut season, the New Mexico native laced up in 45 contests with the Ice Wolves. Hubbard scored six goals while registering 17 assists.

Hubbard is one of four members of the New Mexico Ice Wolves to make a Division I hockey college commitment.
