Danbury Captain Boring makes NCAA Commitment

The Danbury Hat Tricks of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Brendan Boring has committed to play NCAA hockey for SUNY Plattsburgh in the SUNYAC.

The 20-year-old from the Empire State, Boring, will play NCAA hockey in his home state. Boring is a second-year veteran of the Hat Tricks. The ‘05 forward laced up in 55 games this year for Danbury. He scored 13 goals and made 14 assists in that span. One of those tallies was named the decider in the contest. The 6-foot forward was impactful during the postseason, scoring three goals while making three assists in five playoff games. Each goal was scored on special teams. One tally was in power-play fashion, and two were short-handed goals.

Boring shares his excitement about joining the Cardinals this upcoming season.

“I’d like to thank my parents, coaches, and teammates who helped me get to this point in my career. I especially want to thank head coach Lenny Caglianone for all his hard work and support. I’m very excited to start the next chapter of my career.”

In Boring’s first season in the League of Opportunity, the 6-foot forward hit the ice in 27 games for the Connecticut-based team. He found twine six times and registered four assists in the span.

Head coach of the Hat Tricks, Lenny Caglianone, went into detail on what it means to have Boring on the roster.

“Brendan is the epitome of a leader. He’s been the foundation for our success this year both on and off the ice. His relentless pursuit on the ice sets the standard for what our team needs to compete at. Having him as our captain this year was an absolute blessing. Plattsburgh is getting an elite human and a warrior of a hockey player who embodies heart and soul. Congrats to the Boring family.”

Boring is one of 11 members of the Danbury Hat Tricks to make a college ice hockey commitment.
