Springfield Defenseman Sprickman NCAA Commitment

The Springfield Jr. Blues of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Brayden Sprickman has committed to play NCAA hockey for the University of New England in the CNE.

The 6-foot-4 blueliner from the Keystone State, Sprickman, will join the Nor’easters in the fall. Sprickman is a first-year skater in the League of Opportunity. He was acquired by the Jr. Blues through the 2025 NAHL Entry Draft in the sixth round, 183rd overall. The ‘05 skater laced up for 56 games for the Midwest Division team. Sprickman registered 28 points, tallying 10 goals while making 18 assists in his debut NAHL season. One of his tallies was named a decider in a contest, while two goals were scored on the power play.

His offensive production from the blue line earned him recognition as December’s Defenseman of the Month in the NAHL. The Erie, Pennsylvania, native scored five goals and made seven assists in six games played in December. He led defensemen for the month with five goals and 12 total points. He featured four multi-point games for the Jr. Blues in the month as well.  In addition, he was named as a Star of the Week in December for his work on the ice.

The University of New England program started in 2009 and has made a splash in the past couple of seasons in Division III hockey. The Nor’easters have made the postseason six times since 2018, becoming a regular in the playoffs.

Sprickman is one of eight members of the Springfield Jr. Blues to make a college ice hockey commitment.
