Northeast Defenseman Rutherford makes NCAA Commitment

The Northeast Generals of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Jackson Rutherford has committed to play NCAA hockey for Stevenson University in the MAC. 

The 6-foot-3 blueliner from the Golden State, Rutherford, will join the Mustangs in Stevenson, Maryland, in the fall. Rutherford is a second-year veteran of the Generals, skating for the team in nearly 100 career games. The ‘05 skater was drafted in the 2024 NAHL Entry Draft by Northeast in the fifth round, 154th overall. In his debut season, Rutherford played 44 games. The 6-foot-3 lefty scored two goals while making 15 assists for the East Division team. Moving into his final year of junior hockey, Rutherford laced up in 54 games for Northeast. He tallied two goals while making 15 assists in his final year of junior hockey. The California native registered 34 career points in 98 games played in the NAHL.

Rutherford is one of 12 members of the Northeast Generals to make a college ice hockey commitment.
