Austin Forward Hruza makes NCAA Commitment

The Austin Bruins of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Gavin Hruza has committed to play NCAA hockey for Bethel University in the MIAC.

The 6-foot forward from West Fargo, North Dakota, Hruza will join the Royals at Bethel University in the fall. The 20-year-old is a second-year veteran of the Bruins. This season, Hruza was one game short of playing every game during the regular season and postseason. Hruza, during the 2025-26 season, featured a 66-point performance during the regular season. The North Dakota native laced up in 58 regular season games and tallied 34 goals and 32 assists for the Central Division team. Eight of his tallies were game-winning goals, while 11 goals were scored on the power play. On his team, he ranked second overall in goals during the regular season. In the playoffs, Hruza registered six points. The 6-foot skater scored twice while notching four assists for the Bruins.

In his first full season for the Bruins, the West Fargo, North Dakota, native played for the black and gold in 58 games for Austin. He scored 13 goals and made 8 assists for the team. He scored 21 points in his first full season with the Bruins.

Hruza is one of 9 members of the Austin Bruins to make a college ice hockey commitment.
