Odessa Goaltender Jones makes NCAA Commitment

The Odessa Jackalopes of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that goaltender Kevin Jones has committed to play NCAA hockey for SUNY Cortland in the SUNYAC.

Hailing from South Lyon, Michigan, Jones will join the Red Dragons in the fall in New York. The 6-foot-3 netminder has played between the pipes in 26 games for the Jackalopes this season. In that span, he has turned aside 784 shots and notched a .901 save percentage. Jones secured the first shutout of his NAHL career on December 12, 2025, with a 25-save performance against the Oklahoma Warriors. In addition, the Michigan native earned South Division Star of the Week honors on November 3, 2025, as he faced a total of 96 shots on the weekend, making 92 saves for Odessa.

The 21-year-old got his start in the League of Opportunity with the Fairbanks Ice Dogs during the 2024-25 season. He played in the crease for five games, securing a .909 save percentage and recording a 3.17 goals-against average.

Jones is one of four members of the Odessa Jackalopes to make a college ice hockey commitment.
