Lone Star Alternate Captain Saibel makes NCAA Commitment

The Lone Star Brahamas of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Vladimir Saibel has committed to play NCAA hockey for University of Dubuque in the NCHA.

The 5-foot-10 forward from the Lone Star State, Saibel, will join the Spartans in Dubuque, Iowa, this fall. Saibel is a third-year veteran of the Brahmas, playing 144 games in the purple and black. This past season, Saibel laced up in 55 regular season games for Lone Star. The ‘05 skater scored 11 goals and made 17 assists for the Texas-based team. His 28 points were his best offensive season during his NAHL career. Saibel tallied two game-winning goals while featuring a +19 rating with the team.

In the postseason, Saibel exploded on the scoresheet, putting up a point per game for the Brahmas. He found twine four times while notching five assists for the Brahmas. The alternate captain featured a nine-point postseason in his eight games played. In game two against the Shreveport Mudbugs, Saibel featured a four-point performance in Lone Star’s 5-1 victory.

During his 2024-25 campaign, the 5-foot-10 lefty laced up for 67 games for Lone Star. The Frisco, Texas, native tallied eight goals and eight assists for the Brahmas. Two of his goals were named deciders in contests, while one goal was scored on the power play.

Moving into his debut season in the League of Opportunity, the forward played in 14 games for the Brahmas, joining the team late into the season. He played in Lone Star’s full postseason run, lacing up in the Robertson Cup championship game. Saibel helped the Brahmas take home the trophy in 2024. During that 14-game stretch, the ‘05 skater scored two goals and made three assists in his rookie season.

Before playing in the NAHL, Saibel spent a season in the T1ER during the 2022-23 season. He scored four goals and made 10 assists in that span.

Saibel is one of 10 members of the Lone Star Brahmas to make a college ice hockey commitment.
