Minot Defenseman Dawson makes NCAA Commitment

The Minot Minotauros of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Owen Dawson has committed to play NCAA hockey for the University of Wisconsin-Superior in the WIAC.

The 5-foot-11 lefty from Traverse City, Michigan, Dawson will head to Superior, Wisconsin, to skate with the Yellowjackets in the fall. The ‘05 defenseman played an integral role from the blue line. He laced up in 51 games for the Tauros, scoring two goals while making 10 assists. His work on the ice earned him recognition and a spot at the 2026 Top Prospects Tournament for the Central Division team.

His connection to the NAHL runs deeper than most skaters, as his older brother, Will Dawson, also played in the League of Opportunity and specifically for the Tauros.

The Michigan native got his first taste of the NAHL with a one-game appearance with the Springfield Jr. Blues in the 2024-25 season.

Dawson is one of nine members of the Minot Minotauros to make a college ice hockey commitment.
