Minot Defenseman Mullen makes NCAA Commitment

The Minot Minotauros of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Riley Mullen has committed to play NCAA hockey for Milwaukee School of Engineering in the NCHA.

The ‘05 blueliner from the Keystone State, Mullen will skate with the Raiders in the fall. Mullen is a third-year veteran of the League of Opportunity. He started his NAHL career in the Midwest Division with the Minnesota Wilderness. The ‘05 skater played 33 games with the Minnesota-based team, notching three assists. He was then acquired by the Kenai River Brown Bears in early February of 2024, and he finished his rookie season with the Alaska-based team, playing 19 games. Mullen scored three goals and made eight assists from the blue line for the Brown Bears.

Moving into his second season, the Lincoln University, Pennsylvania native laced up for 58 games for Kenai River, just one game shy of playing every game in the regular season. Mullen scored two goals and made 16 assists for the Brown Bears. In his final season of junior hockey, the 6-foot-1 righty played 27 games for Kenai River and notched five assists. In January, Mullen was acquired by the Minot Minotauros. He played 25 games for the Tauros, notching 12 points in that span from the blue line. He scored a goal and made 16 assists with the Central Division team.

For his NAHL career, Mullen played 164 games in the League of Opportunity. He scored six goals and made 44 assists. He registered 50 career games.

Mullen is one of nine members of the Minot Minotauros to make a college ice hockey commitment.
