Corpus Christi Goaltender Miceli makes NCAA DI Commitment

The Corpus Christi IceRays of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that goaltender Xander Miceli has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for the University of Wisconsin in the Big Ten.

The 6-foot-4 netminder from the Volunteer State, Miceli, will join the Badgers in the fall. Miceli played his final season of junior hockey with the Corpus Christi IceRays in the South Division. He played 34 games in net, recording a .900 save percentage and a 2.95 goals-against average. The ‘05 Tennessee native secured two shutouts during the regular season. His first shutout was a 39-save performance against the Odessa Jackalopes on December 6, 2025. His second one was a month later against the Shreveport Mudbugs, where he turned aside all 20 shots.

The first-year NAHL netminder shares his gratitude to the program on social media.

“l am excited and honored to announce my commitment to play Division I hockey at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and join the Wisconsin Badgers men's ice hockey family. I want to thank God, my family, coaches, advisor, trainer, billets, teammates, and everyone who has supported me throughout this journey.”

His work in net from the second half of the season helped the IceRays climb the South Division rankings and earn a spot in the playoffs.

The ‘05 goaltender earned distinction this year. Miceli was named a South Division Star of the Week on January 12, 2026.

Miceli is one of 10 members of the Corpus Christi IceRays to make an ice hockey college commitment.
