Shreveport Defenseman Adams makes NCAA Commitment

July 14, 2026

The Shreveport Mudbugs of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Evan Adams has committed to play NCAA hockey for Trine University in the NCHA.

The 6-foot blueliner from Clarkston, Michigan, Adams will skate with the Trine University Thunder in the fall. Adams is a second-year veteran of the Mudbugs, skating 121 career games. This past season, the Michigan native registered 15 points during the regular season. He laced up in 58 regular season contests, just one game shy of playing every game this season. The ‘05 righty scored two goals and made 13 assists for the South Division team in his age-out season. With his work on the ice, he helped to lift the Mudbugs to the South Division Semifinals during the 2026 playoffs.

In Adam’s rookie season, the Mudbug defenseman skated in 58 games. The 6-foot righty scored two goals and notched six assists for Shreveport in his debut year.

This upcoming fall, Adams will not be the only Mudbug on the Trine Thunder roster. He will head to Indiana with his Shreveport teammate, Vinny Diiulio.

Adams is one of seven members of the Shreveport Mudbugs to make a college ice hockey commitment.
