Maine Defenseman O’Brien makes NCAA DI Commitment

The Maine Nordiques of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Jack O’Brien has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Sacred Heart University in the Atlantic.

The 6-foot-2 blueliner from Kennebuck, Maine, O’Brien will join the Pioneers in the fall. The 21-year-old just wrapped up his final year of junior hockey with the Nordiques. O’Brien joined the East Division team in early January and laced up for 24 games. The ‘05 blueliner registered seven points, scoring two goals and making five assists. He secured a +4 rating when he was on the ice.

O’Brien shares his gratitude for the opportunity and the people who have supported him in his hockey journey.

“I would like to announce my commitment to play Division I hockey at Sacred Heart University. Thank you to my family, friends, and teammates for supporting me every step of the way; none of this would be possible without you. Amazing things can happen when you put your trust in God.”

Nick Skerlick shares more on O’Brien’s ability on the ice.

O’Brien is one of six members of the Maine Nordiques to make a NCAA hockey college commitment.
