Corpus Christi Captain Richard makes NCAA Commitment

The Corpus Christi IceRays of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Marc-Alexandre Richard has committed to play NCAA hockey for Alvernia University in the MAC.

The 6-foot-1 lefty from Val-d’Or, Quebec, Richard will join the Golden Wolves in Reading, Pennsylvania, in the fall. Richard just wrapped up his final season of junior hockey with the IceRays as their captain. The 21-year-old laced up in 57 games for the South Division team, registering 17 points from the blue line. He lit the lamp seven times while producing 10 assists for Corpus Christi.

Richard shares his gratitude for the Corpus Christi organization and his excitement for his future.

“I’d like to thank my family, coaches, teammates, and everyone with the IceRays organization for helping me reach this point. Corpus Christi has played a huge role in my development as a player and person. I am excited for the opportunity to attend Alvernia University and continue competing at the collegiate level.”

Richard is one of 10 members of the Corpus Christi IceRays to make an NCAA ice hockey commitment.
