New Mexico Forward Schooley makes NCAA Commitment

The New Mexico Ice Wolves of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Brendan Schooley has committed to play NCAA hockey for St. John Fisher University in the UCHC.

The 5-foot-11 lefty from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Schooley will join the Cardinals in New York this upcoming fall. Schooley is a second-year veteran of the League of Opportunity. This past season, he started his age-out season with the Oklahoma Warriors, skating in 11 contests for the South Division team. The ‘05 skater found twine twice while notching four assists for the Warriors. He was then acquired by the St. Cloud Norsemen, where he hit the ice in 17 games.

Following his time in the Central Division, Schooley was acquired by the New Mexico Ice Wolves, where he played 15 games in a New Mexico sweater. He scored two goals and made two assists with the Albuquerque-based team.

In Schooley’s debut season in the NAHL, he played most of the year with the Oklahoma Warriors. He laced up for 43 games, registering three points for the South Division team. He scored two goals and made an assist in his rookie season.

Schooley is one of 14 members of the New Mexico Ice Wolves to make a college ice hockey commitment.
