Rochester Forward O’Donnell makes NCAA Commitment

The Rochester Jr. Americans of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Clay O’Donnell has committed to play NCAA hockey for Middlebury College in the NESCAC.

The 5-foot-11 righty from Rochester, New York, O’Donnell will join the Panthers at Middlebury College in the fall. O’Donnell is a third-year member of the Jr. Americans, skating 91 games in the red, white, and blue. This past season, the 21-year-old rejoined the Jr. Americans at the start of the new year, lacing up for 22 games with the East Division team. He registered five points, scoring a goal while making four assists.

In his 2024-25 campaign, the ‘05 forward skated in 17 contests with the New York-based team. O’Donnell recorded eight points, logged three goals and notched five assists. One of his goals was scored in game-winning fashion while one goal was tallied on the man advantage. His work on the ice helped to lift the Jr. Americans to the East Division title and an appearance at the Robertson Cup.

The forward from the Empire State played his first season of junior hockey during the 2023-24 season with the Jr. Americans. The Rochester native laced up in 52 contests, notching 14 points with the East Division team. He lit the lamp six times while recording eight assists. Two of his tallies were scored in decider fashion for the Jr. Americans.

O’Donnell is one of 16 members of the Rochester Jr. Americans to make a college ice hockey commitment.
