Danbury Alternate Captain Lukko makes NCAA Commitment

The Danbury Hat Tricks of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Ryan Lukko has committed to play NCAA hockey for Nichols College in the CNE.

The 5-foot-9 lefty from Colonia, New Jersey, Lukko will join the Bison in Dudley, Massachusetts, in the fall. Lukko is a second-year veteran of the Hat Tricks. This past season, the alternate captain laced up for 57 regular season contests for Danbury. The ‘06 blueliner ranked third on his roster with 19 assists on the season while scoring three goals for the Hat Tricks. Lukko found twine in two of his goals in power-play fashion for the Connecticut-based team. In addition, the New Jersey skater recorded a +11 rating on the year during the regular season.

Lukko and the Hat Tricks made their first postseason appearance as an organization, reaching the East Division Semifinals. The 19-year-old laced up in five playoff games for Danbury, scoring a goal and making an assist in their postseason run.

The ‘06 skater made his NAHL debut during the 2024-25 season. Lukko played 56 games for the Hat Tricks, registering 25 points for the East Division team. The blueliner tallied six goals while making 19 points for the Hat Tricks. From his rookie season, Lukko recorded a +5 rating on the ice.

In Lukko’s NAHL career, the 5-foot-9 lefty notched 49 points in 118 games played as a Hat Tricks. He scored a total of 10 goals and made 39 assists.

Lukko is one of 12 members of the Danbury Hat Tricks to make a college ice hockey commitment.
