Lone Star Captain Tulacro makes NCAA Commitment

July 22, 2026

The Lone Star Brahamas of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Maddox Tulacro has committed to play NCAA hockey for Amherst College in the NESCAC.

The 6-foot-3 blueliner from Bethesda, Maryland, the Brahmas captain will join the Mammoths in Massachusetts in the fall. Tulacro is a second-year NAHL veteran, playing over 100 games in the League of Opportunity. This past season, the ‘05 blueliner laced up in 47 games during the regular season for the Brahmas. Tulacro scored seven goals and registered 16 assists for the Texas-based team. Three of his tallies were notched in game-winning fashion for Lone Star, while one goal was logged on the power play. The 21-year-old was effective on the ice for his team, recording a +24 rating, the second-best plus-minus on his team.

His ability to lead and put his team in winning situations earned him a spot at the 2026 Top Prospects Tournament on the South Division roster. The 6-foot-3 defenseman scored a short-handed goal during the two-day event at the USA Hockey Arena against some of the best uncommitted athletes that the NAHL has to offer. In addition to being named to Top Prospects, Tulacro was recognized for his work on the ice in the South Division during the regular season. The second-year veteran was named to the All-South Division Team.

The ‘05 skater helped to lift his team to a postseason run, clinching the South Division title and eventually a spot at the annual Robertson Cup. In his eight playoff games, the 6-foot-3 righty notched four assists for the Brahmas, securing the second-most assists during their postseason run.

The captain started his NAHL career in his home state of Maryland during the 2024-25 season with the Maryland Black Bears. Tulacro played 14 games with the East Division team, registering three points in that span. He scored his first NAHL goal with them while producing two assists. The blueliner would then be acquired by Lone Star in December and would finish out his season with the South Division team. He played in 36 games for the Brahmas, recording eight points for Lone Star. The 6-foot-3 skater scored three goals and made five assists.

In Tulacro's NAHL career, he produced 38 points in 105 games between the Lone Star Brahmas and Maryland Black Bears. He scored 11 goals and notched 27 assists from the blue line.

Tulacro is one of 13 members of the Lone Star Brahmas to make a college ice hockey commitment.
