Oklahoma Forward Day makes NCAA Commitment

The Oklahoma Warriors of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Trace Day has committed to play NCAA hockey for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in the WIAC.

The 6-foot-4 forward from Mesa, Arizona, Day is a third-year veteran of the League of Opportunity. Day spent this past season splitting time with the Oklahoma Warriors and Austin Bruins. He started his age-out year with the Bruins in the Central Division. He laced up in 38 contests for the Bruins, recording 20 points. The ‘05 forward scored nine goals and registered 11 assists in that span with Austin. He was then acquired by the Warriors in early February and skated with the team for the remainder of the season. Day logged 26 points in 21 games, notching 12 goals and 14 assists for the South Division team. Two of his tallies were scored in decider fashion while three goals were scored on the man advantage. Day played in every regular season contest, lacing up in 59 games between the two teams.

In the postseason, Day scored two goals in three playoff games for the Warriors.

The Arizona native spent his second season in the League of Opportunity splitting time between the Amarillo Wranglers and Austin Bruins. He started his 2024-25 campaign with the Wranglers, lacing up in 29 games for the South Division team. Day recorded 24 points, scoring 15 goals and producing nine assists. He would then be acquired by the Austin Bruins in late January, where he would skate with the Central Division team for the remainder of the season. He played in 24 regular season contests with the Bruins, lighting the lamp three times and logging five assists. Day would then go on to skate in nine postseason contests for the Bruins.

In his debut season, Day played exclusively for the Amarillo Wranglers, hitting the ice in 33 contests. In his rookie year, he scored three goals and made six assists for the South Division team.

Prior to playing in the League of Opportunity, Day played in the T1ER for two seasons. In his 16U season, Day was named to the All-T1ER East Division team.

Day will join more than 20 NAHL alumni currently on the roster at UW-River Falls.

UW-River Falls, located just 30 minutes from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, competes in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) and is a 19-time WIAC champion. The three-time NCAA national champions play their home games at the brand-new, $65 million W.H. Hunt Arena, located directly on campus.

Day is one of nine Oklahoma Warriors to make an NCAA ice hockey commitment.
