Bismarck Alternate Captain Ziskie makes NCAA Commitment

The Bismarck Bobcats of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Noah Ziskie has committed to play NCAA hockey for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the WIAC.

The 6-foot-3 blueliner from Macomb, Michigan, Ziskie will join the Blugolds in Wisconsin this upcoming fall. Ziskie is a third-year veteran of the League of Opportunity, skating most of his time with the North Dakota-based team. In his age-out season, the ‘05 righty laced up in 56 contests for the Bobcats, recording a league-leading 15 goals while registering 33 assists. His 48 points in the regular season ranked him in the top 10 of blueliners in the league. Ziskie found twine three times in game-winning fashion with three goals scored on the man advantage in the regular season. 

Thanks to his work on the ice, he earned recognition throughout his final season of junior hockey. He was named as October’s Defenseman of the Month and was a Central Division Star of the Week on two occasions. In addition, Ziskie was named to the Central Division team at the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament. He recorded an assist during the two-day event at the USA Hockey Arena.

In the postseason, the Michigan native played in five playoff games. Ziskie recorded three assists for the Bobcats during their hunt for back-to-back Robertson Cups.

Prior to his age-out season, the ‘05 defenseman played a full year with the Danbury Hat Tricks in the 2023-24 season. The 6-foot-2 righty laced up in 55 contests for the East Division team, recording 30 points for Danbury. He scored eight goals and produced 22 assists from the blue line. Four of his tallies were scored on the man advantage with one goal notched in game-winning fashion. Ziskie earned the honor of heading to the Top Prospect Tournaments in 2024 and was named to the Selects Silver roster. At the annual event, he registered two assists for his team and represented some of the top young talent the NAHL had to offer.

The Macomb, Michigan native got his first taste of the League of Opportunity during the 2022-23 season with Bismarck. He played in 12 contests for the Central Division team and produced two assists in that span. That same year, he got the opportunity to play alongside his older brother, Jonathan Ziskie.

Bismarck Bobcats Assistant Coach Alec Rauhauser talked about Ziskie’s reliability in all situations throughout the season. 

“He was really good for us all year. His offense was something we relied on from the start and throughout the year as well. Z took a big step in his all around game and became very reliable defensively, playing in every situation for us.”

Ziskie is one of 16 members of the Bismarck Bobcats to make an NCAA hockey college commitment.
