Elmira Forward Laperriere Makes NCAA Commitment

The Elmira Aviators of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Shawn Laperriere has committed to play NCAA hockey for the University of Wisconsin-Superior in the WIAC.

Laperriere just wrapped up his debut year in the League of Opportunity. The ‘05 forward will skate for the Yellowjackets in Superior, Wisconsin this fall. The 5-foot-10 forward skated in 43 contests for the Aviators this past season, recording 12 points for the New York-based team. Laperriere scored four goals and recorded eight assists in his age-out season. The 21-year-old logged one goal while on the penalty kill and found twine once in deciding fashion for the East Division club.

Laperriere joins the Yellowjackets, an NCAA program that has made NCAA tournament appearances as a program and clinched the national title in 2002.

Laperriere is one of 11 members of the Elmira Aviators to make an NCAA ice hockey commitment.
