North Iowa Alternate Captain Suzuki makes NCAA Commitment

The North Iowa Bulls of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Fuji Suzuki has committed to play NCAA hockey for Adrian College in the NCHA.

The 5-foot-10 forward from Tokyo, Japan, Suzuki will join the Bulldogs in Michigan this upcoming fall. Suzuki just wrapped up his second season playing in the League of Opportunity. The ‘05 skater recorded a team-leading 1.21 points per game in his 43 games played this past season. Suzuki scored a Bulls-leading 29 goals while notching 23 assists for the Central Division club. He lit the lamp once in game-winning fashion while recording eight power-play tallies in his age-out season. In addition to his scoring on the man advantage, Suzuki was effective short-handed. The alternate captain logged five short-handed goals with North Iowa.

Thanks to his work on the ice, Suzuki was named a Top Prospect for the annual Top Prospects Tournament. He laced up for the Central Division club, representing as one of the top uncommitted players that the NAHL has to offer. While in Plymouth, Michigan, Suzuki scored a short-handed goal for Team Central, helping to lift his team to a 3-0 victory over the East Division team.

In addition to being named a Top Prospect, Suzuki won two Star of the Week accolades in the 2025-26 season. He earned his first recognition as a Central Division Star of the Week in early November with the Bulls. Suzuki would come home with his second Central Division Star of the Week in late February following the Top Prospects Tournament.

In Suzuki’s debut season in the League of Opportunity, the 5-foot-10 righty laced up in 50 games for the Bulls, recording 29 points in the 2024-25 season. The Tokyo, Japan, native scored 11 goals while producing 18 assists for the Central Division club. Suzuki tallied three game-winning goals while recording four power-play markers in his debut year.

In his NAHL career, Suzuki wore the Bulls’ sweater in 93 games, logging 81 career points over the two seasons.

At Adrian College, Suzuki will skate alongside former North Iowa Bulls teammate Carter Davis in the fall.

Suzuki is one of eight members of the North Iowa Bulls to make a college ice hockey commitment.
