Rochester Forward King makes NCAA Commitment

The Rochester Jr. Americans of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Owen King has committed to play NCAA hockey for SUNY Geneseo in the SUNYAC.

The 5-foot-11 righty from Rochester, New York, King will stay in his home state to skate with the Knights. King is a second-year veteran of the Rochester Jr. Americans, skating in 113 games in the Red, White, and Blue. The ‘05 skater this past season recorded 50 points in 44 games, regularly showing up on the scoresheet. King tallied 17 goals and logged 33 assists for the East Division club. Three of his tallies were scored in game-winning fashion while four goals were notched on the power-play in his age-out season. The ‘05 skater featured a +21 rating on the ice with the Jr. Amerks while scoring two goals short-handed.

In his debut year in the NAHL, King recorded nearly a point per game across the regular season and postseason. He laced up in 69 contests, logging 65 points for the East Division club. The Empire State forward lit the lamp 27 times and registered 38 assists. He spotlighted a +30 rating on the ice and recorded four game-winning markers in his first season with the Jr. Americans. The ‘05 righty additionally notched seven power-play tallies for the club.

King played a contributing role in helping the Jr. Americans in their 2024-25 postseason run. Rochester clinched the East Division title while also earning a spot at the annual Robertson Cup.

King is one of 16 members of the Rochester Jr. Americans to make a college ice hockey commitment.
