Lone Star Forward Murray makes NCAA Commitment

The Lone Star Brahmas of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that forward Nate Murray has committed to play NCAA hockey for St. Norbert College in the NCHA.

The forward from Fowlerville, Michigan, Murray will join the Green Knights in De Pere, Wisconsin, this upcoming fall. Murray is a fourth-year veteran of the League of Opportunity. This past season, the 5-foot-9 forward started his age-out campaign with the Minnesota Wilderness in the Midwest Division while also serving as the captain of the team.

In his 22 games played with the Minnesota-based club, Murray lit the lamp four times while recording 16 assists for the Wilderness. One of his tallies was scored on the man advantage while he featured a +4 rating with the team. In December of 2025, the Michigan native would be acquired by the Lone Star Brahmas in the South Division. The 5-foot-9 skater laced up in 26 regular-season games for the Texas-based club, recording six points for the team. He scored two goals and logged four assists for the Brahmas. His offensive skillset would show up in the postseason as Murray produced five points in eight playoff games. He scored a game-winning goal while registering four assists for the South Division team, helping his team to a Robertson Cup appearance.

Prior to his age-out season, Murray played for the Minnesota Wilderness over the course of two seasons. In his 2024-25 campaign, the ‘05 forward laced up for every regular-season contest for the Wilderness, logging 37 points in 59 games played. Murray was one of the top point-getters for the Midwest Division club, scoring 14 goals while producing 23 assists. Four of his tallies were notched on the man advantage while one goal was scored short-handed.

During the 2023-24 season, the Michigan native played in 21 games in the green and black. He scored six goals and logged eight assists for the Wilderness. Two of his goals were scored on the man advantage for the club. He featured 14 points in his second season in the League of Opportunity.

In Murray’s debut season in the League of Opportunity, the 5-foot-9 skater started his 2022-23 campaign with the Janesville Jets. He notched two points in nine games played, scoring his first NAHL goal while recording an assist. Murray would then be acquired by the Corpus Christi IceRays in the South Division, where he logged 10 points in 16 games played. The ‘05 forward scored two goals and recorded eight assists with the South Division club.

In his NAHL career, Murray played 161 games in the League of Opportunity, logging 94 points across the four seasons.

Murray is one of 15 members of the Lone Star Brahmas to make a college ice hockey commitment.
