August 30, 2026

The Minnesota Mallards of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Justin Watson has committed to play NCAA hockey for Salve Regina University in the CNE.

The 6-foot-3 blueliner from Hanover, Massachusetts, Watson will join the Seahawks in Newport, Rhode Island, in the fall. The ‘06 righty laced up in 27 games for the Mallards this past season, recording four points from the blue line. He scored his first NAHL goal while registering three assists for the Central Division club.

Prior to joining the Mallards, he made a one-game appearance with the New Hampshire Mountain Kings in the 2025-26 season.

Watson is one of 14 members of the Minnesota Mallards to make a college ice hockey commitment.
