Weekend Wrap-Up: Bulls and Eagles sweep

Odessa 1 @ Amarillo 6 - The Amarillo Bulls scored four first period goals and went on to a 6-1 triumph over the Odessa Jackalopes on Sunday at the Amarillo Civic Center. Will Harrison and Riley Christensen each scored twice for Amarillo, while several players had multi-point games. Cody Gylling, and Kasper Emanuelsson each had single tallies. Jacob Weatherly notched the win in goal his first start in a while and played well. Cody Gylling got the offense started with his third goal of the weekend from Will Harrison at the 3:36 mark. Eight minutes later, the Bulls made it 2-0 on a power play goal by Kasper Emanuelsson who’s shot deflected behind Forbes Ploszaj. Jesper Synellius and Cody Gylling assisted on the play. Less than a minute after that, Riley Christensen scored his first NAHL goal from Tristan Rostagno when he fired a shot that beat Ploszaj. That goal sent Ploszaj to the bench in favor of Robin Johansson. The Bulls quickly got to the new goaltender in final 10 seconds of the stanza when Will Harrison scored from Luke Novak and Jesper Synnelius. In the third period, Will Harrison notched his second of the game on the power play from Nick Le Sage and Kasper Emanuelsson at 2:06. The Jackalopes snapped the shutout string of goaltender Weatherly by scoring at the 8:22 mark on a goal from Leo Lumm. The Bulls rounded out the scoring when Riley Christensen scored his second of the game from Addison Runey and Ben Jentsch. Boxscore
 
Soo 3 @ Keystone 2 (SO) – The Soo Eagles completed a weekend sweep of the Keystone Ice Miners thanks to a 3-2 shootout win on Sunday in Connellsville. Scoring came early in the game as Keystone scored first on a goal from Austin Romzek less than three minutes into the game. The Eagles answered four minutes later as Nick Belger tied the game. The Ice Miners would again regain the lead as Tommy Horn scored late in the 1st period. Joey Sofo assisted on both Keystone goals. It wasn’t until the 3rd period that the Eagles would tie the game as Pat Gazzillo scored with 4:47 remaining in regulation to send the game into extra time. In the shootout, Belger and Denver Pierce scored for the Eagles, while Romzek had the only goal for the Ice Miners. Sean Keating picked up the win, making 33 saves, while Nick Kossoff took the loss making 37 saves. Boxscore
