NAHL announces Easton Divisional Stars of the Week
The North American Hockey League (NAHL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Easton Hockey for the week ending December 27, 2015. The Easton Hockey Divisional Stars of the Week is a weekly feature during the 2015-16 regular season that honors the top performing players in each of the four NAHL divisions. Only players that are nominated by their respective teams are considered for the Divisional Players of the Week award.
Central Division Star of the Week: No Games
East Division Star of the Week: No Games
Midwest Division Star of the Week: No Games
South Division Star of the Week: Dominic Lutz, forward, Topeka RoadRunners
Offense was hard to come by this past weekend as the Topeka RoadRunners and Lone Star Brahmas dueled to a virtual draw this weekend with each team picking up three points, including a win and an overtime/shootout loss. Topeka forward and leading scorer Dominic Lutz, 19, played a significant role in helping his team during the weekend games with three points and a +2 rating. On Saturday, the native of Livonia, Michigan, had the overtime-winning goal and an assist in a 3-2 win. On Sunday, Lutz (6’0/195) had the lone goal in regulation for Topeka in a 2-1 shootout loss. For the season, Lutz leads the RoadRunners in scoring with 29 points in 32 games. “Dominic is a natural goal-scorer who has put in the work necessary to succeed at this level. He has the vision to make plays and the confidence to shoot, which makes him a constant threat. He takes a lot of pride in being a two-way player and he contributes on the defensive side as well. He will be a solid addition for some NCAA Division I school,” said Topeka head coach Scott Langer.
2nd Star: Cameron Clarke, D, Lone Star Brahmas
Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Corbin Kaczperski, G, Lone Star Brahmas – Cam Strong, F, Topeka RoadRunners
