NAHL graduate and alumni Kevin Gravel made his NHL debut on Thursday night with the Los Angeles Kings in their 5-2 loss on the road against the New York Islanders.

The Los Angeles Kings recalled the defenseman on Wednesday from the Ontario Reign of the American Hockey League (AHL).

The 23-year-old Gravel (born March 6, 1992) is a 6-4, 199-pound native of Kingsford, Mich. who appeared in 42 games this season with Ontario, posting 16 points (5-11=16), a plus-5 rating and 28 penalty minutes.

Selected in the fifth-round (148th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Gravel has appeared in 105 career AHL games, collecting 31 points (11-20=31), a plus-17 rating and 53 penalty minutes. Gravel will wear number 53 for the Kings.

Gravel played a full season in the NAHL for the Marquette Rangers during the 2008-09 season.  During that season, Gravel had 14 points in 58 games played. He later went on to play NCAA Division I hockey at St. Could State.
