Odessa goaltender Phipps makes NCAA commitment

The Odessa Jackalopes of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that goaltender Kade Phipps has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
Phipps, 21, just completed his second and final season of playing junior hockey in the NAHL during the 2018-19 season, which was spent with the Jackalopes and also the Johnstown Tomahawks.
The 6’1/201 lbs. native of Perrysburg, Ohio, began the 2018-19 season with the Tomahawks, posting a 3-2-0 record in five games with a 2.70 goals against average and a .897 save percentage. After his trade to Odessa, Phipps appeared in 27 games and posted a 7-13-2 record with a 3.71 goals against average and a .902 save percentage.
During the 2017-18 season, Phipps spent time between the Tomahawks and Aberdeen Wings.
Overall in his two year NAHL career, Phipps posted a 21-22-2 record in 52 games played, which included a 3.07 goals against average and a .909 save percentage.
He is 11th player from the 2018-19 Jackalopes roster who has made an NCAA commitment.
