Odessa Jackalopes announce coaching change
January 10, 2020
The Odessa Jackalopes, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), have announced that Todd Watson has stepped down as Jackalopes head coach and general manager.
Watson will remain on staff as a regional scout in the mid-west for the Odessa Jackalopes and their NA3HL affiliates the Texas RoadRunners and the Atlanta Capitals. In this role, Watson will continue to identify, and help recruit young and talented hockey players to come and play for those organizations.
This reassignment will also allow Watson to be close to his wife of 25 years, Nicole, and his four children.
Chris Powers, Jackalopes VP of Hockey Operations said, “We look forward to working with Todd in his new role and wish he and his family the very best.”
Adam Phillips has been named interim head coach of the Jackalopes, effective immediately, and will guide the Jackalopes from behind the bench.
The Jackalopes will embark on a large and extensive coaching search for the Jackalopes’ next head coach. The candidate will likely be named in the near future.
Tim Christian has been named interim general manager for the Jackalopes effective immediately.
