Saturday Scores: Ice Dogs widen Midwest lead with another sweep

Luke Farthing had a hat-trick in a 5-1 win on Saturday night to help the Chippewa Steel to a weekend sweep.

Fairbanks 4 @ Northeast 0 - Austin Ryman turned aside all 22 shots he faced to get his fourth shutout of the season as the Fairbanks Ice Dogs blanked the Northeast Generals 4-0. Mason Plante and Tyler Deweese both had a goal and two assists for Fairbanks. Luke Ciolli and Trenton Woods also potted goals for the Ice Dogs. Joey Stanizzi was dealt the loss as he made 38 saves.
 
Chippewa 5 @ Janesville 1 - Luke Farthing continued his red hot weekend as he logged a hat trick in the Chippewa Steel’s 5-1 win over the Janesville Jets. Connor McGrath scored twice as well for the Steel. Trent Burnham won his second game in as many days as he stopped 25 shots. Parker Lindauer scored the lone goal for Janesville while Riley Sims stopped 22 shots. 
 
Maryland 2 @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 4 - Lincoln Hatten scored twice and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights scored four unanswered goals to top the Maryland Black Bears 4-2. Zak Currie and Artur Turansky also lit the lamp for the Knights. Zach Stejskal denied 27 shots to pick up the win in goal. Logan Kittleson and Hampus Rydqvist found the back of the net for Maryland while Andrew Takacs made 38 saves in the loss. 
 
Austin 7 @ St. Cloud 4 - Tiernan Shoudy scored twice and chipped in three assists as the Austin Bruins completed their three game sweep of the St. Cloud Blizzard, winning on Saturday night 7-4. Dante Sheriff provided a goal and two assists for the Austin attack while Barrett Brooks, Hugh Larkin, Jaden Shields and Connor Mylymok all lit the lamp for the Bruins. Brett Miller stopped 16 shots to win the game in net. Luke Aquaro, Andrew Hicks, Bud Winter and Brock Draeger all scored for the Blizzard in the loss. Sam Metcalf made 21 saves for St. Cloud.
 
Kenai River 5 @ New Mexico 6 - The New Mexico Ice Wolves won their third straight game as they scored four goals in the third period en route to a 6-5 win over the Kenai River Brown Bears. Alex Gomez registered two goals while Emil Gabrielson notched a goal and an assist. Spencer Rudrud, Joe Prouty and Philip Ekberg all tallied goals for New Mexico. Garrett Mackay won his second NAHL game as he turned aside 29 shots. Peter Morgan, Laudon Poellinger, Max Helgeson, Skylar Gutierrez and Logan Ritchie all found the back of the net for Kenai River. Landon Pavlisin took the loss in net as he made 31 saves.
 
Odessa 1 @ Amarillo 5 - Devan Tongue registered a four point night with a goal and three helpers as the Amarillo Bulls won their sixth straight game, defeating the Odessa Jackalopes 5-1. Jordan Venegoni scored twice and added an assist while Lauri Sertti and Ty Black also potted goals for Amarillo. Max Gutjahr was nearly perfect as he denied 17 of 18 Odessa shots. Matt Hutton was the only Jackalope to find the scoresheet while Zach Stern stopped 48 shots. 
 
Shreveport 5 @ Corpus Christi 1 - For the second consecutive night, the Shreveport Mudbugs took care of the Corpus Christi IceRays by a score of 5-1. Billy Feczko, Brent Keefer, Dawson Sciarrino, Matt Weber and Sam Miller all scored for the Mudbugs in the victory. Richie Parent stopped 28 of 29 shots to win his 13th game of the year. Benjamin Biester had the only goal for the IceRays while Jeremy Forman made 26 saves. 
 
New Jersey 7 @ Maine 4 - Seven different Titans found the back of the net as New Jersey bounced back to beat the Maine Nordiques 7-4. Mitch Machlitt led all skaters with a goal and two assists while Chris Garbe and Kyle Jeffers each tallied a goal and an assist. Daniel Dimon, Josef Glamos, Nick DeSantis and Brody Medeiros all scored for the Titans in the win. Arseni Sergeev made 30 saves en route to his ninth win of the year. Isaiah Fox, Casper Soderling, Trent Grimshaw and Ignat Belov all scored for Maine. Avery Sturtz and Wesley Mankowski teamed up to make 36 saves. 
 
Johnstown 1 @ Jamestown 6 - Noah Finstrom potted a pair of goals and added an assist as the Jamestown Rebels dominated the Johnstown Tomahawks 6-1. Eric Olson grabbed a goal and two assists while Nock Siffringer had a goal and assist of his own. Brett Morich and Jordan Cormier also found the back of the net for the Rebels. Noah West made 33 saves to grab the win in goal. Tristan Poissant provided the only goal for the Tomahawks while David Tomeo stopped 25 shots in the loss.
 
MN Magicians 3 @ Springfield 0 - Samuel Vyletelka made 32 saves to pick up his first shutout of the season as the Minnesota Magicians defeated the Springfield Jr. Blues 3-0. Robert Christy potted a pair of goals while T.J. Sagissor also found the back of the net. Jake Seitz and Marko Reifenberger each chipped in two assists. Ryan Wilson made 18 saves in the loss for Springfield. 
 
Aberdeen 7 @ Bismarck 4 - Clayton Cosentino and Spencer Schneider each scored twice as the Aberdeen Wings split their weekend series with the Bismarck Bobcats, winning on Saturday night 7-4. Mack Byers contributed a goal and two assists while Pierson Brandon chipped in three helpers. Jakob Breault and Jake Beaune both scored as well for Aberdeen. Jake Sibell made 26 saves to improve to 10-2-2 on the year. Daniel Chladek, Jack Olsen, Lars Rodne and Adam Stacho all found the back of the net for Bismarck. Andrew Miller made 13 stops in the loss.
 
MN Wilderness 4 @ Minot 3 - Aaron Myers scored with just 1:10 remaining in regulation as the Minnesota Wilderness outlasted the Minot Minotauros 4-3. Kimball Johnson, Matteo Menotti and Nate Horn tallied goals in the win for the Wilderness. Kaleb Johnson made 35 saves in the win. Adranik Armstrong-Kingkade tickled the twine twice while Kyler Kleven also scored for Minot. AJ Ruskowski took the loss as he made 35 saves.
