Magicians forward Kron makes NCAA DI commitment
The Minnesota Magicians of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Luke Kron has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for the University of St. Thomas in the CCHA.
Kron, 19, is currently competing in his first season of junior hockey in the NAHL. The 6’0/180 lbs. native of Andover, MN, is having a very solid rookie season in 2020-21. In 39 regular season games, Kron recorded 19 points (6 goals, 13 assists).
He has also added two points in two Robertson Cup Playoff games thus far as the Magicians have advanced to the Midwest Division Finals.
I’m pumped to announce my commitment to play division 1 college hockey at The University of St Thomas! Thank you to my family, friends and to everyone who has supported me a long the way,” said Kron on Twitter regarding his commitment.
“Luke has a well-rounded skill set and he’s a good playmaker. Watching his improvement from high school hockey to now has been very encouraging. He comes to the rink with a smile on his face every day and his positive attitude is contagious. He will be a great fit at Saint Thomas and we’re all very excited for him,” said Magicians head coach Stu Bickel.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Kron spent three seasons playing high school hockey in Minnesota for the Andover Huskies, leading the team to the Minnesota State Class AA State Championships in 2020 as team captain.
