Friday Finals: Minotauros stay in 1st place with sweep

Danbury forward Jazz Krivtsov had a hat-trick in a 9-4 win on Friday night in Maine.

Minot 4 @ Bismarck 3 (SO) Huston Karpman scored the game deciding goal for Minot in the shootout as they kept pace ahead of Austin for first place in the Central Division with a sweep of the Bobcats. Zack Simon, Cole Mickel and Kade Nielsen all scored in regulation for Minot. Jake Mclean had two goals for Bismarck while Calvin Hanson chipped in one of his own. Carter Clafton was spectacular as he made 38 saves and stopped two out of three shooters in the skills competition. Ben Behrens took the tough loss, stopping 23 shots.

Danbury 9 @ Maine 4 Jazz Krivtsov registered a hat trick while Boris Skalos had two goals and an assist in Danbury’s 9-4 victory over the Maine Nordiques. Joshua Burke had a goal and an assist while Roberts Andersons, Robert Hyde and Miles Harrington all lit the lamp for the Jr. Hat Tricks. Theo Thrun potted a pair of goals and added an assist for Maine while Patrick Schmiedlin had two points and Ignat Belov added a goal as well. Josh Seeley turned aside 46 shots to pick up the win in the blue paint while Gus Holt was dealt the loss as he stopped 25 shots.

Northeast 3 @ Johnstown 4 – Sean Ramsay scored with just 1:13 remaining in regulation to lift the Johnstown Tomahawks to a 4-3 win over the Northeast Generals. The Generals led 2-0 after 20 minutes thanks to goals from Ryan Corcoran and Joey McGraw. Johnstown would tie the game at two with goals from Braedon Ford and Egan Schmitt. Ryan Gordon would give Northeast the lead again but it would be short lived as David Wilcox beat the buzzer before the second intermission. Ramsay’s game winner was his eighth of the season. Salvatore Evola made 20 saves to grab the win while Oliver Drum stopped 30 shots.

Fairbanks 2 @ MN Wilderness 1 Tyler Krivstov made 32 saves as the Fairbanks Ice Dogs edged the Minnesota Wilderness 2-1. Alexander Kulmanovsky scored his first goal of the season to open up the scoring while Noah Griswold chipped in his fourth of the year just about three minutes later. Nicholas Rexine scored early in the third period to get Minnesota within one but that’s as close as they would get. Konrad Kausch stopped 28 saves in the loss for Minnesota.

Anchorage 4 @ Janesville 2 – Shane Soderwall had 27 stops for the Anchorage Wolverines as they doubled up the Janesville Jets by a score of 4-2. Jackson Reineke and Hunter Bischoff each tallied a goal and an assist while Colton Friesen and Aiden Westin also chipped in goals. Robby Newton and Jonah Aegerter were the goal scorers for Janesville while Owen Millward made 35 stops for the Jets.

North Iowa 2 @ Austin 5 Sutter Muzzatti grabbed a hat trick and added two assists as the Austin Bruins defeated the North Iowa Bulls 5-2. Walter Zacher and Damon Furuseth each contributed a goal for the Bruins. Michael Meesic and Dylan Gajewski got on the scoresheet for the Bulls. Klayton Knapp was the winner in net as he stopped 27 shots. Hunter Garvey was the loser despite making 26 saves.

Amarillo 1 @ Wichita Falls 4 – Cade Lemmer netted a pair of goals as the Wichita Falls Warriors topped the Amarillo Wranglers 4-1. Brendan Williams had a goal and an assist for the Warriors while William Lawson-Body scored in the win as well. Logan Cleary netted the lone goal for Amarillo in the loss. Brandon Milberg earned the win in goal as he made 19 saves. Connor Strobel denied 21 shots in the loss.

Lone Star 3 @ Corpus Christi 4 – Four different IceRays found the back of the net as Corpus Christi outlasted the Lone Star Brahmas 4-3. Jude Kurtas, Brady Carlock and Dylan Contreras each had a goal and an assist in the win for Corpus Christi. Juraj Elias chipped in a goal for the IceRays in the win. Connor Gallagher, Jack Collins and Frankie Ireland all scored for the Brahmas. Damon Beaver picked up the win in net for the IceRays, he made 26 saves. Austin Schwab made 22 stops in the loss for Lone Star.

New Mexico 5 @ Shreveport 1 Gustav Blom finished the night with three points as the New Mexico Ice Wolves took care of the Shreveport Mudbugs 5-1 to bring the Mudbugs six game winning streak to an end. Evan Carroll lit the lamp twice while Dillan Bentley hopped on the scoresheet as well. Drake Morse was the only Mudbug to beat Beni Halasz, who made 19 stops in the victory. Devon Bobak was dealt the loss for Shreveport as he made 28 saves.

El Paso 2 @ Odessa 8 – Trevor Taulien had a goal and three helpers as the Odessa Jackalopes ended the year in style, with an 8-2 win over El Paso. Emerson Goode, Christopher Duclair and Justin Hughes all had a goal and an assist each. Ryan Kelly, Dayne Hoyord, John Perdion and Tanyon Bajzer all got in on the scoring frenzy. Tyler Pfisteer and Matt Johnson scored for the Rhinos in the loss. William Proctor finished the night with 23 stops in the win while Connor McDonough made 41 stops for El Paso.

St. Cloud 3 @ Aberdeen 5 – The Aberdeen Wings scored early and often as they beat the St. Cloud Norsemen 5-3. Owen DuBois scored just 17 seconds into the game to put Aberdeen ahead. Hugo Gustafsson increased the lead with his third goal of the season. Evan Murr got St. Cloud back within a goal but Landry Schmuck netted a goal with nine seconds left in the period to put Aberdeen back up by two. Nik Hong’s eighth of the year got St. Cloud close again but Seamus Campbell responded for Aberdeen. Christopher Lynch netted his first of the year midway through the second but Dubois’ second of the night sealed the win in the final seconds. Dominik Wasik improved to 8-6-1 on the year as he made 35 saves while Tomas Bolo was given the loss as he made 23 stops.
