Magicians and Rebels close weekend with wins on Sunday

Nolan Suggs backstopped the Rebels to a road win in Johnstown on Sunday.

Kenai River 1 @ MN Magicians 6 – The Magicians completed a weekend home sweep of the Brown Bears as six different players scored in a 6-1 win on Sunday. The Magicians put the game away early with three goals in the 1st period from Jon Bell, Spencer Light, and Gavin Best. After a scoreless 2nd period, the Magicians scored three more times in the 3rd period to put the game away as they got goals from Lucas Kanta, Daniil Dolzhenko, and Samuel Jacobs. Magicians defenseman Patrick Czarnecki had a game-high three assists in the contest. Cole Dubicki would net the lone goal for Kenai River late in the game. Magicians goalie Kyle Kozma made 19 saves in the win, while Tommy Aitken made 33 saves in the loss.

Jamestown 3 @ Johnstown 2 – In their lone game of the weekend, the Jamestown Rebels got 30 saves from Nolan Suggs in a 3-2 win in Johnstown. After a scoreless 1st period, the Tomhawks took a 2-1 lead in the 2nd period as Jake Black and Holt Oliphant scored, while James Miller scored for the Rebels. In the 3rd period, the Rebels came from behind with two goals from Marcus Kivela Carlzon and Peter Klemm to win the game, 3-2. Salvatore Evola made 21 saves in the loss.
