Fairbanks defenseman Sarsland makes NCAA DI commitment
The Fairbanks Ice Dogs of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that defenseman Tristan Sarsland has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Clarkson University in the ECAC.
Sarsland, 18, finished the 2021-22 season playing for the Ice Dogs, which included 13 combines games in the regular season and playoffs.
The 6’0/185 lbs. native of Wayzata, MN, joined the Ice Dogs in March following the conclusion of his high school hockey campaign in Minnesota with Benilde-St. Margaret’s School. In eight regular season games, Sarsland recorded seven points (4 goals, 3 assists). He also added three points in five Robertson Cup Playoff games.
“I’m pumped to announce I am committed to play college hockey at Clarkson University next year. Thank you to everyone who has helped me,” stated Sarsland.
During the 2020-21 season, Sarsland played in six games for the Ice Dogs towards the end of the regular season, recording four points.
Overall in 14 NAHL regular season games, Sarsland has recorded 11 points.
In four years with Benilde-St. Margaret’s School, Sarsland played in 97 career games and had 77 points.
