June 22, 2022

The St. Cloud Norsemen of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Jackson Hughes has committed to play for NCAA Division III hockey for the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

Hughes, a 6’2/195 lbs. native of South Lyon, Michigan, came to the Norsemen midway through the 2021-22 season from the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks, his second year in the North American Hockey League.

Hughes, 20, played 30 games for the Norsemen in the regular season and all 11 playoff games, scoring 11 points on 5 goals and 6 assists and registered a +11 rating.

While with Danbury, he appeared in 26 games and had four points.

Hughes made his NAHL debut during the 2020-21 season with the Chippewa Steel and was later traded to Danbury, recording two points in 35 games that season.

Overall in his NAHL career, Hughes has appeared in 91 regular season games and recorded 14 points.

The Norsemen have had 15 NCAA committed players on the squad this season, and Hughes makes the 13th NCAA commitment on St. Cloud’s season-ending roster.
